Personal CoachingHow Does Personal Coaching Work? Your coach is your partner, working with you to achieve the personal success you desire. Coaching is by telephone or in person with regular sessions, which allows for a very efficient use of your time. You can be coached in your home or office, allowing you to be in a comfortable place to really talk. Coaching is very powerful by telephone, leaving you better able to focus on the content of the conversation. It's a highly effective method and saves travel time and costs. You choose what you'd like to work on in your coaching session. You'll solve problems, make the most of your opportunities, discuss your goals and receive support and direction to make sure things get done. You'll talk about your dreams, vision and ideas. Your coach will point out perspectives you haven't considered, offer advice, help you plan your next steps, and celebrate your successes with you. You'll feel accountable to your coach, which keeps you on track. And of course, all information you share is absolutely confidential between you and your coach. Take a New Direction With Your Professional LifeHas your professional life reached the point where you feel stuck in a rut and you know that a change of direction is called for? Perhaps you feel there must be something better than this or you know you have more potential, but you don't know what it is. However, you do know that you're ready for work that is meaningful, fulfilling and financially rewarding. Now is the time to re-evaluate and see the true potential within yourself. You may have some ideas about taking a new direction, but there's nothing concrete enough to take action on. Lack of action may be part of the problem. You may be spending more time and energy thinking about what's wrong with what you're doing at the moment, than you're putting into changing it and finding the direction that fits you perfectly. There may be so many possibilities open to you that you're overwhelmed, don't know where to start and this causes you to do very little. This direction may mean a complete change of career, a dramatic upgrade to your career or even a decision to start your own business. All are fairly big steps that you'll need to give some thought to and clarify them specifically for yourself. To make this big step successfully, I invite you to develop strategies for an overall game plan. Then you'll know what you're aiming for and will naturally see the next steps that you need to take. This approach will take slightly longer to start with, but the right strategies will give you the permanent results and changes you want, rather than finding in a few months or years that you're back in the same place you're in now. Strategies help to maximise what you do and keep your priorities uppermost in your mind rather than doing things that are all scattered, which wastes time and causes frustration. If you're ready to develop a game plan to identify your new direction, I invite you to consider and get clarity about the following areas. As you work through them and gain the clarity that's essential, you'll know that the steps you want to take are the right ones for you. What I want for you is what fits you perfectly as the unique individual you are. This may be the first time you've discovered, defined and clarified these things and it's a great opportunity to start with a fresh page. If you've considered these before, then now is the time to upgrade them or connect with them at a deeper level. After all, if you had absolute clarity about all these things, you'd know what direction to take.
I invite you to explore these areas in more depth, in order to gain the clarity needed to naturally uncover the direction you truly want to take with your life. Life Change: Is It Time for a Change? There are times when a major change is called for whether in your personal life, or in your work and business. It may be that this change has been creeping up on you slowly or something has happened that made you sit up sharply and take notice. This might be the time to review how to strengthen your personal relationship with your partner in life, for example. At the point of deciding to make a major change, your commitment level is probably high. Possibly you have a couple of ideas of what you can do or other people share their ideas and thoughts with you. So you start 'trying' out some of these ideas. After all, you reason that if they worked for others then they're likely to work for you. As you start to 'try' out a couple of these ideas you may see some changes and improvements, albeit small. It's at this point that it's easy to settle for this being enough and your commitment level drops because some of the pain that caused you to choose to make changes has been eased. However, this is often only papering over the cracks and doesn't bring the change you really wanted. When you paper over the cracks, you may soon find yourself back at square one and wondering why. This is fine if you choose to do this but I encourage you to be clear that you're only choosing to make temporary changes. Many people go for this choice because it seems quick and easy. You've found a couple of things to try and this will do for now. If, however, you decide that you really do want to make a major change, then you're going to need to give it some thought and develop strategies for an overall game plan that will last. It will take longer to start with, but the right strategies are more likely to give you permanent results than a quick fix. Using strategies maximises what you do rather than just doing a couple of things that may be scattered. If you're ready to develop a game plan for the changes you want, what do you need to consider? If you know what changes you want to make, you first need to discover what the root cause of the problem is and then come up with solutions that will be more permanent. However, let's say that you know or have a gut feeling that there need to be changes, but you're not quite sure what. I invite you to consider the following areas and as you work through them, you'll gain clarity about any changes needed. If you've not discovered or defined these before, then that's your starting point. If you know about these, then they may need updating or you may need to connect with them at a deeper level.
I encourage you to think about and be with all these items until you have the clarity needed to know the change you want. Making these changes will then be more natural for you because you will have connected with what you truly want. Now Commit to Action!I invite you to read these questions and answer them for yourself preferably in writing to help you to be more focused. If you want to make some changes, what is the first step you need to take? What help and support do you need to make these changes permanent? What will it take for you to develop strategies for an overall game plan? Please contact me for a free 30-minute coaching session on a topic of your choice and without obligation.
